Julia Bakery was opened May 26, 2007, by Nenad Indic, who originally grew up in Croatia. His father was a baker and his mother was a cook. Nenad's family emigrated to the United States in 1998. The family arrived in Vancouver and Nenad began pursuing his dream of becoming a baker. He attended Clark College's bakery school and management program, then managed the bakery at New Seasons' first store in Raleigh Hills. Nenad became an American citizen over four years ago.
Nenad found a suitable space for his bakery and café in the historic neighborhood of Rosemere in Vancouver, Washington. His goal was to create Vancouver's first artisan bread bakery, where everything is made from scratch, and all the flours used are 100% organic. It is Nenad's goal that all ingredients used in the bakery be organic in six months' time.

Every Wednesday is a Senior Citizen day when those 65 and over receive a 10% discount. College students are entitled to a 10% discount with ID.
About the Bread
Challah is a traditional Jewish yeast bread. It's rich with eggs and has a light, airy texture. Though it can be formed into many shapes, braided challah is the most classic form.
